I’ll be the first to admit it, I am a sucker for a good fry….if I could, I would eat fries all day long. The minute they land within arms reach I devour them, never pausing until each one is gone; my fingers are salty, my cravings are fulfilled and I can’t wipe the grin off my face. So with a freezer full of Smart Classics Fries from Alexia Foods, I am a woman obsessed with dips, perhaps that is why have done two posts on fry dips back to back?
What I love most about making dips for fries is that they are not limited to fries…..so make plenty and slather them on your veggies, sandwiches or just eat them with a spoon. Each recipe below took me less than a minute to prepare, which means that you can whip them up at the last minute; and if you are looking for a healthier option, sub out the mayo for Greek yogurt.
Dirty Mayo Dip: Sweet, aromatic, with a tiny shimmer of heat, it adds freshness to an otherwise salty fry. Add all the ingredients to a food process and blitz until smooth.
- 1 Cup of Mayo
- 1 Cup of Dill Pickles (I used the mini’s they add a bit more sweetness)
- 2 Tablespoons of the best Dijon Mustard you have
- 1 Tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice
Chipotle Mayo Dip: Tangy, spicy, and Earthy, it adds a smokey element that plays well with both potato and sweet potato fries. Pan fry the garlic until golden brown, then add all the ingredients to a blender and blitz until smooth.
- 1 -2 Cups of mayo (depending on how mild you want it)
- 3 Chipotle peppers (I used the canned variety)
- Juice of half a lemon
- 5 Garlic Cloves
- Pinch of cilantro
